Another Ibrox/BBC EBT recipient ignores Sevco transfer failures to trash Celtic

We must be close to winning the league right?

In fact. Let me rephrase that. Those in the media with *Rangers leanings must know now we are close to winning the league.

Earlier I wrote how Alex McLeish could barely contain himself about the news of Ben Doak’s imminent transfer to Liverpool.

And no sooner was the piece up, I came across another nugget of the EBT era, Alan Hutton also talking Celtic.

Hutton (who’s EBT totalled £364,000), was speaking about one of Celtic’s summer recruits in James McCarthy and seemed to be challenging him to prove his worth to the team. Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton said, “He obviously came in with a wealth of experience.

“But he’s another player that has struggled to stay fit.

“I think if you look at the options right now and how Ange Postecoglou plays the game, it’s very high intensity and high energy. Is he able to do that?

“You look at the ground Hatate covers, even McGregor. They’re workhorses. They get up and down the pitch, they make things happen and that question mark is over James McCarthy.

“Is he capable of doing that for 90 minutes? At the moment, I’m not so sure.

“I think it’s up to him to go and prove that he can play in this team. That he can get to the levels needed to play that high energy football.”

Hutton should mind his own business and concentrate on how his replica club have managed to fork out £2m for a proper unfit reject and get less miles out of him, than focus on Celtic.

And that’s not to even mention the Govan Maradonna, Diallo.

McCarthy has almost 700 minutes under his belt for Celtic this season and there has been sparks of what is to come when he does get a run in the side.

McCarthy will come good. Next season will be the season that define’s him.
