“Could someone tell me what is immoral about Rangers going to make a lot of money?” – Hugh Keevins misreads Sevco fan sordid reaction to Sydney Tour

Talk about reading the room. That’s a phrase that has been doing the rounds for a few months now and more so the last few weeks.

As the announcement from Australia broke that Celtic are set to face Rangers in a friendly derby match Celtic fans stance has always been that they want no part of funding a rival that has continued to mismanage their financial affairs to win a league title that they cannot afford.

It’s really simple. That is the basis of the matter.

Them on the other hand, want to go try and take the moral high ground by claiming they do not want to be associated with a club that is dealing with CSA investigations. Investigations that will open up the flood gates for the rest of the country.

But as we all know, the Sevco fans use this to try an gain some form of one upmanship over our club.

And it is reprehensible.

They have a dark history too which is all too conveniently forgotten by them.

But Hugh Keevins missed the boat here to call them out on live radio and instead played dumb and pretended that he didn’t know what the supposed moral is on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, “I’ve watched this whole thing unfold with a sense of bewilderment. For me. I think that Celtic and Rangers have a five week window of opportunity during which the World Cup is been played in Qatar.

Five weeks in which if they stayed at home they would not air. They have taken the opportunity to go and air. I saw the banner at McDairmid Park that week.

Money over morals. Could someone tell me what is immoral about Rangers going to make a lot of money?

I do understand that the whole topic of Ange Postecoglou homecoming has angered the Rangers fans. They don’t want to be seen as some kind of support act to Celtic.

However, Rangers could win the title and go to Australia as the reigning two in a row champions and say so much for Ange Postecoglou’s homecoming.

This is a marketing device. He’s born Greek but adopted Aussie. So you’re trying to fill an 80,000 capacity stadium in Sydney, and that’s the marketing strategy.

Toys are out the pram and all over the show. And there’s a level of malevolence attaching itself to sell to Celtic and Rangers now that is disturbing to watch.

This is getting out of hand. Two clubs are going to capitalise on their rivalry in a country where there is a thirst for Celtic and Rangers.

I think the supporters are making too much of this and the clubs are right to go.”

And the thing about their supporters is that they love being tied to the Old F*rm tag. It helps them believe that they are the same club.

The Old F*rm tag helps them continue their continuation lie and they know it.

To try and claim they have a moral high ground whilst denying that their own past is just as dark shows them up for the hypocrites that they really are.
