EPL Club Enters Reckoning For Edouard As Report Reveals Reason For Move Collapse

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has been heavily linked with a move away from Celtic this summer in what seems like a chapter out of The Never Ending Story.

The constant speculation on the proposed moves to, firstly Leicester City and now now Brighton and the reasons why a move broke down, has now been exposed in a report this morning in the Scottish Sun.

Accroding to the report, Edouard is demanding an eye watering £85,000 per week which has scared of Brendan Rodgers, Graeme Potter of Brighton and Ralph Hasenhuttl of Brighton.

Edouard is available at between £15-£18m and with less than a year left to run on his contract, can sign a pre contract with clubs in January which would mean Celtic lose him for nothing come June next year.

Edoaurd has seen himself fall down the pecking order as the arrival of Kyogo Furuhashi and his own poor form has seen the big Frenchman start on the bench in Celtic’s last three games and he is likely to be benched for Hearts visit to Celtic Park in the Premier Sports Cup this afternoon.

It is thought that Crystal Palace are looking at Edouard as new boss, Patrick Viera looks to bolster his forward line for the season ahead.

Celtic still have a hefty sell on clause that will be owed to PSG, reportedly 40% of any profit made on the £9m shelled out for Edouard to make him the clubs record signing but the club are willing to listen to offers as the clock runs down on not only the transfer window, but also Edouard’s contract.

  1. It could also have a lot to do with his pathetic performances over the past several games where he has shown no interest and sulking like a big baby.
