With the cup final looming, up steps Mark Hateley as the Ibrox cheerleader blinks first with anti-Celtic referee dig

To be honest, I am surprised it took this long for the Ibrox media pundits to come out with this nonsense.

I suppose they had to firstly, finish their quota of ‘lucky Ange’ articles and the manager leaving for *insert club name* p*sh along with their transfer rumours to try and hawk Kyogo to every and any club in the EPL.

It is, after all, only Thursday.

After Michael Beale, it’s the Ibrox cheerleaders turn to crack under the pressure and whilst many believed it would have come from our side, Mark Hateley beat us to it with his warning to Nick Walsh to not make any mistakes.

As reported by the Daily Record, Hateley said, “Conspiracy theorists will be there, and they will be all over it.

“It’s one of the most important O** F*rm games in a long, long time. Rangers haven’t, apart from last year, been to a cup final and won a cup final. Getting that first one (trophy) in the bag takes away an opportunity for your opposition by taking a Treble away.

“The mindset that comes from a cup final, an O** F*rm one as well, and the negativity it gives to the losing team and the positivity you get as the winning team for the remaining months of the season is vital. It’s massive. There is a big onus on the referee.”

The fans of the other club will say, Ah but Sutton speaks about refs all the time.”, which he does. But he talks about refereeing standards.

He never gets involved in conspiracy theories. He deals in facts.

Hateley is correct of course. This cup final is huge and it’s an occasion that only big clubs can handle.

Maybe they should just sit this one out.
