This was probably the most highly anticipated youth to come through Celtic’s academy in many a year.
Since Gerry Creaney……….
For those of a certain vintage, they will know I jest at this, for our younger readers, Google him.
He was quite decent.
But Karamoko Dembele for one reason or another just didn’t work out at Celtic and because of that, he made his way to France on a free, signing for Brest.
When asked by the assembled French media as to why he was let go, Dembele said, “It’s been very difficult for me. When you play so young, there is lots of pressure. It is what it is. I deal with it well.
“A lot of reasons I can not say but I think the manager didn’t really like the way I played or saw something that was missing in my game.
“But I am here to prove what I can do. I am not sure why it didn’t work out. But that is God’s plan.”
Here’s hoping the young man gets the joy at Brest that he never got at Paradise.
He will be one we will be watching closely over the coming years.
