David Martindale’s comments about Celtic being the best team in the country until Michael Beale turned up really got the debate going this week.
So much so that Ange Postecoglou was asked about it and the Celtic boss dismissed it with his usual brilliant style.
He couldn’t care less.
But the press did. And his comments went viral.
Hugh Keevins defended the Livingston bosses comments but failed to go a single step further to explain his reasons.
Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins said, “I think David Martindale was misinterpreted with what he said about Rangers and Celtic being as good as each other now.
“He’s not talking about Ange Postecoglou winning the league title last season with a 32 game long unbeaten run.
“He is really talking about that period of time in which Ange Postecoglou has been an east end of Glasgow and Michael Beale has been on the south side of Glasgow and in terms of that, they have played the same number of games and had exactly the same number of wins and one draw.”
So who misrepresented him then? The fans?
Absolutely not. Because if it was, Keevins would have had a field day getting tore into us.
Let me give you clue:
Shock horror. The press misinterpreted him. Who’d have thunk it?
The very same cabal that Hugh himself is a part of using a platform to do anything to try and get to the Celtic manager and his achievements.
Can’t point the finger at your friends now Hugh can we?
