Billy Dodds will be on the banned list after jumping over the fence and joining Celtic fans as he calls out a truth about Rangers and VAR.
Rangers got away with a stonewall penalty being awarded against them once again at Ibrox as Motherwell pressed for a late equaliser.
The match referee was a matter of mere yards away and VAR didn’t even have to review it for long as the penalty call was waved away.
It’s not the first time a penalty was not awarded against Rangers at Ibrox this season after Livingston were denied a spot kickback in November.
And former Rangers coach Billy Dodds has called it out with a ‘really worrying’ truth about the video referee, Rangers and Ibrox that Celtic fans have been calling out for years.
Dodds says Motherwell should have had a penalty vs Rangers
Dodds wasn’t holding back as he was grilled on the BBC about the denial of another penalty against Rangers at Ibrox.
Dodds told BBC Sportsound, “I think there’s contact. I think there’s definitely contact. When Fernandes leaves out his leg, I mean, Fadinger runs quickly with the ball.
I think there’s definitely contact. I think Rangers have got away with one. I’m trying to get in my head about the VAR, Kenny.
Kenny McIntyre: “Ian McCall said it was very, very quick.”
Dodds: “Yes, but the point I’m getting to is VAR are now, for me, starting to be scared to make decisions because they’ve made so many mistakes this season after getting a second look at it, that I think they’ve stayed clear of that one. That’s where I’m at because if you take a 10 second look…”
Dodds agrees with what Celtic fans have been ‘worryingly’ saying about VAR & Rangers
When pressed further, Dodds admits that VAR are scared to give penalties against Rangers at Ibrox because the officials are ‘scared’
McIntyre: “That’s a worry though, isn’t it?”
Dodds: “That’s a worry for me. I’ve said it for a wee while.
McIntyre: “That’s your opinion. If that is the psychology, that’s a real concern.”
Dodds: “Yes. Honestly, I really think that because there’s instances where you’re going to go, why have they only looked at that for 10 seconds and made up their mind?
“But then there’s ones you look at and you think, you’ve looked at it, going back to last week, St. Mirren, and you think, you’ve actually looked at that and got that wrong.
“So I think they’re staying away from a couple now. And it’s worrying, it really is worrying.”
Celtic fans have watched their team get punished by VAR on many occasions.
But it seems that when it comes to the Ibrox club, that lot are like Teflon when it comes to big decisions going against them.
Let us know what you think below.
They both didn't.
they both said it looked like contact FFS😂
Without blatant decisions they would be bottom of the table, cheats and they have the cheek to complain unerringly when the…
