Five big names emerge to replace Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy including two Hoops legends

Wilfried Nancy is under tremendous pressure at Celtic.

The Frenchman is creating unwanted history as the Hoops boss after Celtic’s defeat to Dundee United made him become the first manager to ever lose his first four games in charge.

Nancy seems to be sticking to his principles of the 3-4-3 formation and, in all likelihood, it’s going to cost the Celtic manager his job.

If that does happen, there appears to already be fove favourites ready to come in and replace Nancy at Celtic Park and it appears that there are some very big, and familiar, faces making the top five of favourites.

Ange Postecoglou is a favourite for the Celtic manager’s job

Ange Postecoglou is still looking for work after being sacked by Nottingham Forest but he’s not the favourite to come to Celtic if Nancy is binned.

Spokesperson for Poker Scout, Jeffrey McMillan, said: “Results haven’t gone Wilfried Nancy’s way so far and that has inevitably put the spotlight on his position, especially after the loss to St Mirren in the League Cup.

“With Celtic fans already familiar with Martin O’Neill from his successful previous spell and recent interim stint, it’s no surprise to see him at the head of the next manager market at 6/4.

“Behind O’Neill in the betting is Robbie Keane (7/2), with former Hoops manager boss Ange Postecoglou 5/1 to return to Parkhead. Kjetil Knutsen was heavily rumoured to take the job before Nancy was appointed; he’s back at 5/1 to replace the Frenchman.”

The top five names include:

• Martin O’Neill – 6/4
• Robbie Keane – 7/2
• Ange Postecoglou – 5/1
• Kjetil Knutson – 5/1
• Shaun Maloney – 7/1

If O’Neill does eventually return to Celtic if the Nancy experiment fails, heads should roll at the club.

The Celtic board are clearly clueless at dealing with a crisis and this latest chapter in the club’s history is serious proof of that.
