Celtic’s win over Dundee was Martin O’Neill’s last gift to the club before he handed over control to Wilfried Nancy.
The Scottish Premiership table looks a lot better than it did when O’Neill first arrived as Celtic were eight points behind Hearts and struggling for form.
Hearts had already beaten Celtic and were looking good for the title fight, especially with Celtic fans and the board were at loggerheads.
With protests held outside the stadium before the 4-0 Celtic Park win over Falkirk in O’Neill’s first game in charge, it looks like the Parkhead board were afraid of a repeat of the same scenes before the legendary boss’ last game in charge.
And the pictures posted online is not a good look for the Celtic board.
Celtic fenced off the statues on the Celtic Way
Fans normally congregate on the Celtic Way pre-match to get photos taken with the statues before any games.
However, that was made impossible last night as these pictures show.
Taking to X, this Celtic fan posted, “Remember the days when Celtic Park was considered a fortress because of our prowess on the park?
“Now it’s an actual fortress on matchdays. Fans unable to access the statues for photos etc.
“The higher you build your barriers.
“Time for change. Sack the Board!”
This is a disgrace and needs to be shared far and wide as denying Celtic fans access to the statues and the bricks people paid for.
And before anyone jumps in saying it was before the team arrived at the stadium:
Shame on them.
