There are plenty of people out there who cannot wait to batter Celtic with negativity over the recent action against the board.
Fans of other clubs in the Scottish Premiership are getting fond of calling Celtic supporters entitled for wanting their club to be better on and off the pitch.
If only those same fans demanded the same standards Celtic fans do if their board.
Anyway, one of the reasons Celtic fans took action was because of the board briefing against Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers in the press.
Which makes former Everton CEO Keith Wyness’ claim about Rodgers looking to work his ticket out of Celtic even more bizarre.
Keith Wyness claims board spat is Brendan Rodgers ‘manoeuvring’ his Celtic exit
Yeah, Wyness clearly has his finger on the pulse with this moronic claim.
Wyness told The Inside Track [47m 50s], “Well a couple of things on that. I mean, look, you’re right. They’ve been lucky with the results.
“l mean, I think the very dubious penalty they got at Kilmarnock will certainly save them on that result at the weekend. Fan base is protesting, coming into the game late, that sort of thing. You’re right.
“The whole place, a bit like Rangers, is in a bit of turmoil at the moment as well. To me, the Brendan situation smacks of him manoeuvring an exit. That’s what I think is really at play here.”
“And I think he’s starting to put the blame on the club and sort of creating situations that would show he’s unsettled and they’re not his fault. So that’s where I read the tea leaves on that one very well. I think there’s a lot of internal turmoil at the top level.
“And I think the board, while they’re in a very strong position, are out of touch with the reality of the modern team. And so, as I say, the Old F-rm, not happy days. So, we’ll just have to watch that for the coming weeks.”
I mean it is absolutely absurd to make a claim like this that Wyness cannot even substantiate.
Rodgers has said time and again that he will be at Celtic for at least three years and has even hinted that he would love to extend his stay.
Something tells me this won’t be the last time we hear Wyness make another daft Celtic claim this season.
