It’s not quite what fans want but Celtic will be participation in league phase football this season in the UEFA Europa League.
After Celtic lost to Kairat Almaty in the Champions League play-off, Brendan Rodgers will now take the Bhoys into Europe’s second-tier competition.
Celtic last participated in the Europa League under Ange Postecoglou, but at that time it was a straight group where three opponents were faced home and away.
This season, Celtic will compete in the same format at last season’s Champions League competition and Rodgers will find out who he will face in the competition soon.

When is Celtic’s Europa League draw?
The draw will be held on the 29th of August at 12pm.
Seedings for the draw will be available from 8:30am on the UEFA website.

Celtic fans can watch live coverage of the Europa League draw on TNT Sports 1 and on Discovery +.
The draw will also be streamed live and free on UEFA’s website and on Amazon Sports.
The draw takes place at 12pm.

Celtic are in pot 2 with Fenerbahçe, Barga, Crvena Zvezda, Lyon, PAOK, Viktoria Plzen, Ferencvaros and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

There are some tough teams Celtic could draw with Bologna, Aston Villa, Stuttgart and AS Roma some of the standouts.
