It’s seems obvious that Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic board are not aligned over the club’s transfer business this summer.
From the outside looking it, Rodgers wants players but the Celtic board are stalling on paying the money for quality players.
With just £3m spent on eight players, Celtic’s buy low, sell high policy seems to be back.
And it seems one summer signing is paying the price for that as Liam from Celts Down Under explains.
Hayato Inamura is paying the price for the Celtic board’s ‘issues’ with Rodgers
Officially, there doesn’t seem to be an issue between Rodgers and the Celtic board but it does look like there are problems, especially when it comes to this summer’s transfer business.
And Liam reckons Hayato Inamura is paying the price for it.
Liam said on Celts Down Under, “You know, it’s one of those things. I don’t know if it’s Rodgers having a kind of protest thing because it wasn’t his signing or whatever, but, or he’s like, you know, I’ll decide who plays whatever in it.
“But whatever point Rodgers is trying to make, it’s not Inamura’s fault that he and the board are having issues.
“And Inamura is the only one being punished for it at the moment. And I think that is really unfair.”
We wrote just over a week ago how Inamura will never play for Rodgers as the Celtic manager looks to loan him out.
After Inamura impressed in Celtic’s pre-season, this signing certainly seems strange considering the Japanese defender has not featured in any of Rodgers’ matchday squads as yet.
