As a Celtic fan, I am used to hearing some wild takes about our players compared to Rangers.
We all know that when it comes to talking up the Ibrox lot, the Scottish press continually goes overboard with their ridiculous valuations and how they sell new signings compared to how they do it with Celtic’s players.
We heard all this nonsense being spouted about Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and every other player who tried to come to Rangers and wrestle power from Celtic.
Apart from the COVID season, Celtic remain all-conquering of Scottish football whilst Rangers feed from our scraps. And as Rangers prepare to take on Celtic with Russell Martin in charge, the succulent lamb media hype has already begun.
Rangers target Kwame Poku compared to Celtic Invincible Moussa Dembele
Speaking about the possible capture of Kwame Poku, Ross McCormack weirdly compare the young striker to Celtic hero Moussa Dembele.
MCormack told Superscoreboard, “I think probably one of the main gripes that the Rangers faithful had last year was that it was just so easy to play against. Teams would put in two banks of four and Rangers struggled to break them down.
“I think Poku offers that something a little bit different. Pace, trickery. He can really get at players, get by them. His end product’s good. Just an exciting young player. Probably similar to a boy I played with a few years ago, Fulham, Moussa Dembele. Made the same move, cross-border, and it was a nominal fee. I think it would be something that should excite Rangers fans.
“It’s low risk and I think, obviously, I don’t think the wages will be too high as well coming from League One in England, no disrespect. But also, if it doesn’t work in the first year or whatever, given what he’s done last year at Peterborough, he could probably still go out and loan and get more experience that way and come back an even better player. So it’s a no-brainer for Rangers.”
Celtic hero Moussa Dembele’s stats vs Rangers target Kwame Poku
The best way to compare both players would be to look at their stats when they were around the same age. And as Poku is 23, that takes us back to Dembele’s time at Celtic.
When Dembele was 23, he had already won eight trophies at Celtic scoring 51 goals in 94 appearances and competing against Europe’s elite in the Champions League.
In fact, the Celtic Invicible had already secured his big move to Lyon by that age and was scoring in Ligue 1.
Poku, on the other hand is still plying his trade in England’s third tier and in 222 career appearances, has scored just 36 goals. There is no comparison here and McCormack is grasping at straws trying to.

McCormack is just giving his thoughts. He is entitled to do that.
Why are you getting upset?
Hi Pan,
His thoughts are ridiculous. I’m giving mine on them. Why are you getting upset?
