Jota has been an excellent addition to the Celtic team this season.
A January signing, Jota was signed as Kyogo Furuhashi left the Bhoys for Rennes and it looks like Brendan Rodgers has pulled off a transfer masterstroke.
The Celtic manager has been using the Portuguese winger sparingly as Jota gets his fitness up to speed, but according to one Hoops fan, there is a player at the club who is already making the winger so much better at Celtic.
Daizen Maeda has taken Jota’s game ‘up to another level’ at Celtic
Daizen Maeda has scored his 26th goal of the season in Celtic’s win over St Mirren and a Celtic fan told John Hartson that a lot of that is to do with Jota.
The fan told Hartson on The Go Radio Football Show [24m], “He’s done amazing, John. Amazing. And I don’t think it’s any coincidence and I’ve been watching every game. Do you know who else this has got to benefit and who else has got to step up because Maeda has moved into the center? Jota.
“Since Jota has been in, Maeda’s game has went up to another level. Now, Maeda’s the one finishing them off, but Jota has got that intelligence to pick out those runs, to pick out those passes. And I think it was just really exciting.
“Obviously, I still want to see Celtic sign another striker in the summer. But I think it’s really exciting that having a forward thereof Kuhn, Jota and Maeda so far, it’s been frightening.”
Jota has already scored three goals for the Hoops, as Rodgers looks like he is set to defend his Scottish Premiership title and is on course for another treble.

The Japanese winger-turned-striker has been sensational this season, and if Jota continues to influence Maeda’s game for the rest of the season and vice-versa, it’s really difficult to see how Celtic can be stopped domestically.
