Celtic surged to a 14-point lead in the Scottish Premiership after beating St Johnstone 4-0 at Celtic Park and Rangers dropped more points at Motherwell.
Brendan Rodgers‘ team were outstanding in their 4-0 win over the Perth club as they dismantled St Johnstone to finish off 2024 in style.
However, it was at Fir Park where Rangers were hoping to keep their slim title hopes alive with three points against Stuart Kettlewell’s team but all that quickly evaporated in a first half were Motherwell punished the Ibrox club.
Goals from Tawanda Maswanhise and Apostolos Stamatelopoulos put The Well 2-0 up at halftime and caused ructions at Celtic Park.
Celtic fans celebrate as Green Brigade party at Rangers’ pain
At that time, Celtic were 1-0 up and battering a St Johnstone side who were clinging on to prevent a doing at Parkhead.
But as the news filtered through that Motherwell were dishing out a pounding Rangers, the Green Brigade did this:

It was an excellent moment and a great way to sign off on 2024 where Celtic remain unbeaten against the Ibrox side as they ripped the Scottish Cup and League Cup from their grasp.
The pain looks set to continue into 2025 when both Celtic and Rangers meet in the New Year where the first Glasgow Derby of 2025 could end the league title race in January.
What a meltdown we will see if and when that happens.
