Celtic have completed some superb work in the summer transfer window strengthening the squad for this season.
The Celtic board opened up the purse strings and spent big money on Arne Engels and Auston Trusty as Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers prepared for the Champions League and the defence of the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic also showed their frugal side by snapping up Kasper Schmeichel for free and spending just over £3m on Portugal U21 captain, Paulo Bernardo.
The Hoops are unbeaten in the league and on the cusp of making the play-off place in the Champions League now.
The point is, if you spend the right money on the right player then success on the park will follow.
And there is one player in particular who has lit up Celtic Park this season despite playing most of his minutes from the bench and costing just £1m.
Luke McCowan talked up for his Celtic ‘swagger’
Speaking about Luke McCowan, Jim Orr on A Celtic State of Mind praised the former Dundee captain for his role in the 5-0 hammering of Ross County.
Orr said on A Celtic State of Mind, “I think if you put a good player in amongst very good players, their standard will go up. It has to go up. And last Saturday he was brilliant.
“The goal he scored, okay, to have a bit of reflection. Brilliant. Just he was all over the place. He was putting in tackles. He was encouraging people. And he’s got a swagger about him.
“The Glasgow word gallus, swagger, gallus. He’s got it all because he knows what it’s like to be there. I mean, this time last year you’re playing for a struggling Dundee team.
“You’re losing far more games than you’re winning. It’s a struggle. And a lot’s on your shoulders in the game.
“Just now he’s like in front of 60,000 fans, banging in goals for fun and loving it.
“He’s a brilliant, brilliant player. And that’s why, again, I would say that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to get good players.”
Luke McCowan’s comprehensive Celtic stats from this season

Rated at 7.56 by Fotmob, McCowan is also outperforming players like Paulo Bernardo (7.32), Reo Hatate (7.26) and Arne Engels (7.05).
At just £1m, McCowan is looking like one of the transfer bargains of the decade for Celtic.
