Celtic’s transfer business this season under Brendan Rodgers can almost be described as flawless.
All but one of Rodgers’ summer signings have slotted into the Celtic first team and made a material impact on results this season.
Viljami Sinisalo is the only Celtic signing yet to make his debut but when the time comes, I’m sure the Finland international will be more than capable of filling the Parkhead gloves.
But it’s last season’s summer business that has come under scrutiny from The Celtic Blog’s, James Forrest.
Someone at Celtic should be dismissed for signing Odin Thiago Holm
Celtic’s signing of Marco Tilio was severely criticised yesterday by the Bhoys on Trinity Tim’s.
But here, it’s the circumstances under which Holm was signed that has really annoyed Forrest.
Forrest told Trinity Tims, “We signed Kwon from the Korean second division right which is absurd, right? Absolutely absurd.
“We then signed Odin Thiago Holm when there wasn’t even a manager in the building. When we didn’t know who the manager was going to be, what style of football he was going to use, whether or not he would get any benefit out of having this guy in the squad and Rodgers has barely looked at a guy since he took over.
“I mean that was just a colossal waste of goddamn money and someone should have been fired for that decision alone.
“Signing a player when there’s no manager, what is that? Only we could have done that. Only we could have thought that was cool.
“That one drives me nuts.”
Odin Thiago Holm’s Celtic stats and his Parkhead future
Since signing for Celtic, Holm had made just 16 appearances amassing 434 minutes under Brendan Rodgers scoring just one goal. (Transfermarkt)
Holm hasn’t made a single appearance for Celtic this season yet.
The Norwegian midfielder was said to be one of the best players to come out of the country but has failed to make an impression.
Omitted from the team photo for this season, it looks like Holm’s time at Celtic is up and the youngster should be moved on sooner rather than later.
