Graeme Souness is to Celtic fans what the Rangers supporters are over on Follow Follow.
A figure of fun and a shoo-in for an entry into Born Celtic’s annuls of The Banter Years. Some of the things he comes away with are really top-notch comedic value.
Souness once claimed if Rangers were given £50m they could catch Celtic. Considering that’s against FFP regulations, that will never happen.
Souness also once claimed Rangers would come out of liquidation with no debt without realising that once a club/company enters liquidation, they never get out of it.
And then after Celtic humiliated Rangers at Parkhead, Souness also came away with some crazy stats to try and claim the gap between both clubs is not as big as some people make out.
But now, it’s the turn of Newcastle United as Souness stabs his old club in the back as he slaughters their status as a club and the support their fans give them.

Graeme Souness managed Newcastle for a period of time between 2004-2006 when he fell out with Craig Bellamy which led to the Welsh international’s loan move to Celtic.
There was nothing off-limits for Souness when it came to Newcastle when he said that they are not a big club in terms of worldwide interest they are not.
So when Simon Jordan asked if Newcastle have the best supporters in the land Souness told him on Outspoken [28m], “No. Glasgow Rangers, Liverpool. Teams I played for.”
Rangers let their club die and Celtic fans know it
Those very same fans that Souness is gushing over let their club die.
They sat back and did nothing as Rangers’ years of financial doping using EBTs came back to haunt them.
Well, that’s not strictly true. They waved red cards and shouted something about liquidation and threatened to sink somebody, but they never even did that properly.
The only thing they sank was their club and the way Rangers are going now trying to catch Celtic, they are about to do it all again.
Quite ego…….’teams I played for’…. He has lost it.
