Dear Lord, just when you think the Ibrox shambles can’t get any worse (or better in the case of the Celtic fans) Rangers chairman, John Bennett, steps in and throws fuel on the fire.
The circus surrounding the state of Ibrox and the progress of the stadium’s repairs has been brought sharply into focus after this upcoming statement.
And as Bennett might have thought this could appease an ever-growing number of angry Bears, it has done the complete opposite.
John Bennett’s Ibrox apology
Bennet released a statement just over an hour ago apologising to the Rangers supporters and to try and shed some light on the current situation.
This statement did nothing for the latter.
Bennett said (Rangers FC), “First I’d like to apologise on behalf of the club for the uncertainty that this delayed project has caused to our season ticket holders, hospitality clients, partners and the wider support of this football club.
“The number of variables in this situation has made it extremely difficult to bring the one thing we all crave – certainty.
“Nevertheless, we are closing in on the most immediate solution – a suitable venue at which to fulfil our fixtures and house our support.
“While the ongoing delay means that the club is unable to fix a date for our return to Ibrox, we anticipate that this will become clearer upon delivery of the necessary materials to Glasgow.
“Rangers thanks the Scottish FA and the SPFL for their strong support in working to this solution.
“The club wholeheartedly appreciates the continued patience of our supporters while we work through this most trying of situations.
“I intend to give a fuller, personal update by the end of July.”
And the Bears were deeply unhappy:
John Bennett out.

Absolute clown and not fit to run a bath, let alone a football club.
Some Bears want an interrogation:
End of July? What a joke! Instead of a statement Bennett should be interviewed and question by fan media at least.

Another wants Bennett to sell his shares:
If you are unable to run the club to the standard that is required then look to sell to people that are.

You’re clearly not fit for purpose, year on year you deliver failure. It’s to time to go!!!
An absolute shambles.

Bennet needs his jotters
The Celtic fans were absolutely loving it and were lording it up on the Rangers X channel but there is a serious side to this as well.
Rangers are already going to lose circa £6m just for this summer alone. Who am I kidding, that’s not serious, that’s absolutely glorious!
I can’t wait to see what Bennett tells them in July. He had better wear a hardhat!
