Celtic fan shows the alleged VAR footage given to John Beaton which led to Rangers’ penalty at Ibrox

The ramifications of Rangers penalty award against Celtic yesterday are not likely to be felt u til the end of the season.

Now the reason I say that is because instead of taking three points out of Ibrox, Brendan Rodgers and his team only got one and depending on how the rest of the results go, that could prove crucial come the end of May.

The turning point in yesterday’s Glasgow Derby was, of course, John Beaton’s decision to award that penalty instead of sticking to his decision of yellow card for simulation.

But if you take a look at the alleged VAR footage shown to the referee posted by a Celtic fan on social media channel X, then it’s easy to see why.

Only one team is consistently referred like this.

Only one team gets this kind of penalty 99% of the time. This was as blatant a manipulation of a decision as you're likely to see.

So if this is the case, then you have to ask yourself why this was.

Why was John Beaton not shown the full clip of the VAR replay that showed Alistair Johnston getting contact with the ball?

So it seems there could be more questions than answers and its answers I hope that Celtic will seek as soon as possible.
