Hugh Keevins makes Rangers claim that shows just how out of touch he is with the Celtic support

The Scottish Cup this weekend has brought home the very real notion that a treble is on the cards for Ange Postecoglou’s men.

With only Rangers, Inverness Caley and either of Falkirk or Ayr standing in our way, it is very difficult to see who could stop us. Although I do accept that it’s the cup and on a one off game anything can happen.

But do Celtic fans really care who we face in the final? Do we hanker for another showdown with Rangers?

Apparently so says Hugh Keevins.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins said, “The Celtic fans hope that on the 3rd of June that they will play Rangers and win convincingly.

“Here is the difference, you [Gordon Duncan] are from the rural communities and I am from a housing estate.

“Rangers fans will take no greater satisfaction than beating Celtic in the Scottish Cup final and making up for the league cup final that was lost and the Celtic fans will take no greater pleasure than beating Rangers in two cup finals in one season against Rangers. That’s. How. It. Works”

And when pressed that if he thought there were Celtic fans actively wanting Rangers to win so they can meet them in the final, Keevins replied, “Absolutely.”

I think I am more suitably qualified to speak for the fans (even though I don’t) to say that I hope they get scudded in every game that they play.

I don’t want them in the final. I do not care who we play in the final. The only thing that matters to me is that we win the trophy irrespective of the opposition.

But then, this is Keevins. It’s not the first time this weekend he has shown himself up for his daft views on the Scottish Cup.
