I’m all for Celtic using whatever means they can to raise money for the club but in a cost of living crisis, their latest revenue generator does seem, in my opinion, a bit crass.
Match Worn Shirt is a an initiative that encourages fans to bid on players shirts that have been worn during official team business but when you look at what some of the prices are for the shirts, you won’t believe your eyes.

Two squad signed shirts £450
Signed ball £281
For me, it’s a crass way to earn more money from fans that are already feeling the cost of living crisis and that also spend a lot of money following the club home and away.
On the website the club say, “Celtic will be using the funds raised from the shirt auction to help maintain the progress made within the club and continue their development both on and off the field.”
But that just isn’t cutting it with these fans:
Maybe you guys should throw in an occasional competition for a signed match-worn shirt, for all the fans who can’t afford several hundred pounds.

Ridiculous. As much as I’m against taking those “can I have” cardboard signs to games there are thousands of kids out there that would bite yer hand off for one. Absolutely no chance doing it this way.
