The media have already begun their hatchet job on Celtic’s new signings

Celtic’s new signings have not even had the chance to get their feet under the table yet and here we are with the Scottish media taking an opportunity to stick the boot into them.

Every other new signing at every other club in Scotland gets the time to settle in, find their feet and then they are assessed on whether or not they have made a material difference to the side.

But not Celtic.

At Celtic if they have a bad debut then they are hung out to dry by the media.

Look at Carl Starfelt. The big Swede was thrown in against Hearts and his half clearance cost Celtic a goal and ultimately three points in his debut at Tynecastle.

90 minutes he got and bear in mind he was straight off a plane, and he was labelled a dud.

And the media hounded him all season even though he was part of the meanest defence in Scotland.

But this new signing has not even had a single minute on the pitch. Hell, he’s not even had a day in his new digs and The Sun tweeted this:

The story is about Alistair Johnston. Celtic;s new man has come in after impressing at the World Cup but now he has been ‘named’ as one of the worst players in the tournament.

But how was this list compiled? Expert analysis? FIFA stats?

Don’t be daft. It was from a site called SofaScore where even The Sun confesses that the list was compiled by FANS who rate players as the matches are played.

Now tell me, what fanbase would feel the need to rate our players negatively in the last seven days or so???

And why would The Sun write a full page spread on it?

The anti-Celtic agenda continues folks and it’s only going to get worse.
