Kenny Miller’s pro Sevco comments on Clyde 1 would make Derek Johnstone proud

Look, I get it. Former players should stick up for their clubs against scrutiny. Especially against the Scottish media.

But surely to God when you can see results and performances that are just not cutting it, you need to call it out?

Perfect example. Chris Sutton and John Hartson.

In Neil Lennon’s last season, both had no qualms in calling out the team and manager after such a dismal campaign saw the collapse of ten in a row.

Because that is their job. You don’t do that then you lose credibility with not only the fans, but your audience. And that is exactly what Miller has done with his latest comments on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.

Speaking about GvB, Miller said, “I’m not on this to demand for people to get sacked for one reason or another.

But now that it has happened, I feel it’s the right decision based on a number of reasons.

And I think there’s a lot of factors that feed into it. The injuries definitely plays a part.

A big part considering there’s two or three big, big players that has been missing.

But the reason I feel it’s the right decision at this time is because the World Cup break. And everything we’ve actually discussed on the show before.”

Miller had just spent the last two weeks claiming that out of all the players missing due to injury, only two in Tom Lawrence and Conor Goldson would make any difference to that Rangers squad.

Miller has now moved into the DJ zone.

His job is to critique and offer his opinion on matters connected to football and his own club.

Failure to call out what everyone else can see makes him an irrelevance now and his position as a pundit untenable.
