GvB’s sacking may not be as straightforward as the Ibrox board may lead you to believe.
The underfire former Rangers manager was under serious pressure prior to the World Cup break after falling nine points behind Celtic in the title race.
That, coupled with their disastrous Champions League campaign seemed to be the last straw for the Ibrox hierarchy and they pulled the trigger this morning sparking their 11th managerial hunt in their 11th year of existence.
But Phil Mac Ghiolla Bhain seems to be suggesting in his latest blog that the poor run of form and results may not be the main reason the likeable Dutchman was sacked.
Phil revealed:
So because he publicly revealed there was not enough cash to strengthen the squad, the Ibrox board decided to pull the trigger? Allegedly of course.
Just think, if Gio had played the game, the Rangers fans would have been stuck with him for the rest of the season.
