Remember when Rangers threw about money like it was going out of fashion in the nineties?
Remember when they ran up a rack of debt, went into administration then liquidation and died because of their wild and reckless spending buying titles and trophies they couldn’t afford?
Yeah, me too.
So why then are they having an issue with Celtic spending money they do have, money that they can afford to strengthen their side to defend their title?
It’s completely bizarre.
In The Hotline, this moon unit (John Bruce) said, “In the January and current transfer window, Celtic allegedly spent almost £40 million on signing and re-signing players and their fans are more than happy to let everyone know about their club’s spending power.
“That’s a lot of money to spend to try and win the SPL title. It totally eclipses the budget of every other club in the league, bar one. If you were at all cynical, you might think that Celtic were trying to buy their way to the league title, again.”
Buy our way to the league title? That’s an incredible statement to make and one that is made with no sense of self awareness at all.
On the other hand, it is also hilarious that they simply cannot see how stupid they look every time they make statements like this.
It does make wonderful content though.
