I know! It’s a story that’s been rumbling on for quite a while now but it seems the Portuguese media have let slip where Jota is set to land this summer.
As we all wait for the Jota announcement like kids wait for Christmas, Portuguese media outlet Record, seem to have inadvertently announced that the fans favourite is heading for the east end of Glasgow.
The report says, “The sale of Everton is considered a priority by SAD, but Benfica considers it crucial to sell three other players soon. Gabriel is close to going to Botafogo for around €5M, while Jota is signing with Celtic in a deal that will generate €7.5M.”
Not quite the ‘scarf above the head’ moment but a signal that maybe the deal to bring Jota to Celtic is well under way, if not already concluded.
