Charlie Adam’s ‘penalty’ tears are epic as Celtic go six clear

Well, well. It doesn’t take long for the excuses to start from the pro Sevco pundits now does it?

As Celtic stretch their lead at the top of the table, questions will be asked of Giovanni’s men ahead of the final six games of the season.

How have they fell so sharply? Why are they leaking so many points? And why did they not get a penalty today?

And that is what had Charlie Adam crying on BBC Sport today when he claimed that Rangers should have had a penalty for a Carter Vickers handball.

Adam said, “Rangers got away with one first half but that’s a penalty kick.”

The last call of desperation is when you start to question the referee performance rather than the teams.

Joe Hart wasn’t troubled one bit today. Apart from Ramsey’s goal, the big Englishman never really had a save to make.

For all their huffing and puffing, Celtics defence stood tall.

That’s where Adam should be looking to. How Rangers couldn’t break through a defence that has only played together for seven months.

His tears are delicious though.
