Martin O’Neill’s brilliantly puts the pro Sevco media to shame

He’s still at it. And who can blame him?

He was the master at it when he was the manager, and now he continues it in retirement.

Former Celtic boss Martin O’Neill cranked up the pressure on Rangers with a warning that they must win on Sunday if they have any ambitions of retaining the title.

Whilst many former *Rangers media commenters claim it’s not must win, O’Neill put them straight and piled the pressure on the Ibrox team ahead of Sunday, “If Celtic come out of the match unscathed then you would have to say they’re really in pole position.

“Of course if Celtic go and win the game and I’m sure that’s probably in Postecoglou’s mind – thinking ‘I’m not going to change for anything, I’m going to go to Ibrox and attack’ – then you would have to think their position is very strong indeed.

“The pressure at this minute is very much on Rangers to get the result, it’s a home fixture for them and a big, big match for them.

“They’re three points behind and they’re unlikely – not impossible – to claw back that goal difference in the number of matches left.

“You could think at this stage that looks like a four point differential so really Rangers must win that game.

“I know they’ve got Celtic again at Celtic Park but really they’ve got to win this game.

And he is 100% correct. The Scottish media have been doing all they can to convince themselves that Rangers can afford a draw.

They absolutely cannot. A draw is as good as a win for Celtic on Sunday. Three points and a goal difference that may as well be counted as an extra point will leave the Hoops in a strong position with only six games to go.

It’s win or bust. And O’Neill knows it.
