Greek media report major Celtic transfer rumour

Away from the blue half of Glasgow for a minute, there has been a major Celtic transfer story being reported on in the Greek media.

As the Hoops look to strengthen this window, it has been reported that one Celtic player has been actively looking for a way out of his nightmare in Paradise.

Greek media outlet Sportime has reported that £5m goalkeeping flop Vasilis Barkas is looking for either a permanent move from Glasgow or loan move.

The international keeper has had a torrid time since his move to the Scottish giants and has failed to not only impress the Celtic fans in the last year, but also Ange Postecoglou in the last four months.

The report claims, “It was decided by Vasilis Barkas. Now even in the missions it is not/will be public and only in public has not said Postecoglou that he should leave.

As reported by Thursday’s Sportime and the column “Agent Greek”, the issue is how good Celtic but the Greek former international portiere is wasting time with the scottish club jersey in the Premiership.

Which he doesn’t even wear. So January is pivotal since he has made a decision that he should leave either on loan or by transfer.

Although a permanent move would seem preferable to help free up some of the wage bill, to be honest, any type of move out of Glasgow would be welcomed by the Celtic fans.

Which would then beg the question, who will become Celtic’s back up keeper? Suggestions have been mooted that former Scotland international, David Marshall, could do a job for the Hoops but would he be willing to play second fiddle to Joe Hart?
