“He wasn’t happy” – Hugh Keevins reveals manager that was unhappy at Ange receiving Manager of the Year

Celtic Park from Janefield Street

Ange Postecoglou has done a magnificent job at Celtic since taking over last June.

Only a bitter and twisted supporter of another team would deny that.

To win the league title and league Cup double in the midst of one of the biggest rebuilds in the clubs history was remarkable.

So to win the Manager of the Year award would be well deserved right? Apparently not.

As one man that was in the running for the award was apparently clearly unhappy that Postecoglou was the eventual winner.

And Hugh Keevins revealed one man who wasn’t best pleased with the result.

Speaking on Clyde Superscoreboard Keevins said, “Last season Dick Campbell almost became manager of the year. I was at the award ceremony. He was at the table next to me and Ange Postecoglou, who got the award.’

Gordon Duncan jumped in and said, “He wasn’t happy was he?”

And Keevins replied, “No, He wasn’t happy.”

Not really sure why to be honest. Yes, what Campbell didn’t achieve was excellent but with a club where nothing is expected it’s easier to achieve above average results.

But at Celtic? Where winning is expected REGARDLESS of where the team is at? Postecoglou Well deserved the accolade.

So I’m sorry Mr Campbell, until you actually achieve something in the game, make do with recognition, not awards.
