The Celtic Park protest against Stuttgart was not organised by the Celtic Fans Collective, according to ACSOM’s Paul John Dykes.
Celtic fans protested against the board by throwing tennis and bouncy balls onto the pitch to disrupt the start of the Europa League defeat to Stuttgart.
The video can be watched here:
The action caused plenty of controversy with many fans taking issue with the course of action inside Celtic Park.
But who was it that was to blame? It certainly wasn’t the Celtic Fans Collective, that’s for sure.
Who Organised the Celtic vs Stuttgart Protest? ACSOM Clears Fan Groups
Celtic boss Martin O’Neill was fuming with the fans as he said the people who did it ‘need their heads read’.
Well, it seems O’Neill will need to direct his ire at the regular supporters and not the Collective or the Green Brigade.
Paul John told A Celtic State of Mind, [1:02:00] “And can also say it was not orchestrated by the Green Brigade. It was not orchestrated by the Celtic Fans Collective.
“I want to put that out there, because nothing had been confirmed or put out there in terms of protest action in relation to that game last night, fans took it upon themselves to throw objects on the park.
“Because I think there’s a very quick conclusion, when things like that happen, well, it must be the Ultras, or it must be that Fans Collective, those pesky podcasters have told them to do it. That didn’t happen last night.”
To all the board sympathisers and bot social media accounts out there desperately scrambling to blame the Collective, this must be a painful kick to the testicles for them.
If the protest was indeed organic—rather than orchestrated by organized groups—it suggests a broader disconnect between the Parkhead board and the average season-ticket holder that may be harder to manage than a single group negotiation.
