If there is one thing we’ve learned over decades of following Celtic, it’s that you don’t win titles in October, and you certainly don’t win them by talking about how much you’re “annoying” other people in February.
Yesterday, we posted a quick thought on Derek McInnes’ latest media rounds. To say it hit a nerve would be the understatement of the season.
At the time of writing, that post has exploded to over 128,000 views, racking up hundreds of comments from a very sensitive-looking Hearts support.
Said it before, and I’ll day it again.

McInnes has lost the plot 🤪
He’s annoyed no one. The only thing he and Hearts fans are showing is an inability to cope with title pressure 👍

Hearts fans frantically try to prove Celtic have not triggered them
So, what’s actually happening? McInnes has spent the week claiming that Hearts are “starting to annoy a few people” because they’ve maintained their lead at the top of the table. But if you look at the reaction from Tynecastle, the only people who seem annoyed—and frankly, terrified—are the Jambos themselves.
The Celtic support isn’t “annoyed” by Hearts; we’re amused. We’ve seen this movie before. We know exactly what happens when the business end of the season arrives.
McInnes is trying to paint his side as the plucky outsiders, and of course they are, but his comments about people being annoyed when everyone outside of Glasgow and Leith wants Hearts to win the league is just bizarre.
Hearts might have the points on the board for now, but the sheer volume of “defensive” replies to our viral tweet shows the mask is slipping as Celtic fans laugh at the Hearts boss.
The only one who’s annoyed his himself and he proved it by going into the Celtic dug out cos the pressure is on. But when he’s winning it’s ok for him to try wind others up the smug privck

@paulmichaelmorg replied and said, “Scottish Arteta , both are going to blow it because they can’t handle the pressure of being top of the pile and are cracking under the pressure. Celtic and Man City will win these leagues through experience.”

There is a massive difference between being top and staying top. If a tweet from Born Celtic can cause this much of a meltdown in Gorgie, imagine the scenes when the Hoops turn the screw in the coming weeks and Hearts’ title charge collapses.
Enjoy the view while it lasts, Derek. We’re not annoyed—we’re just getting the popcorn ready.
