Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson has come under increasing scrutiny from sections of the Hoops support in recent months.
As far as Chief Executives go, Nicholson has been criticised at Celtic with some fans questioning his leadership and decision-making.
Nicholson came under fire for Celtic hiring Wilfried Nancy after the Frenchman’s short spell at the club ended shambolically.
And now, ACSOM’s John ‘Yogi’ Hughes makes a new claim that has sparked fresh debate among supporters about the long-term future of Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson.
Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson ‘could well be away’ this summer amid transfer window questions
There have been whisperings before about Nicholson’s Celtic future but after how the January transfer window played out, Big John reckons the Parkhead executive’s time at the club is coming to an end.
Speaking on A Celtic State of Mind, John ‘Yogi’ Hughes stressed his view was based on ‘rumblings’ rather than confirmed information, “I think Michael Nicholson that, based on rumblings, I think Michael Nicholson could well be away in the summer, regardless.
“I think that might explain a lot of our signings in terms of this window because the kicking the can down the road. He doesn’t care.
“And also, I think he’ll be happy to see the Green Brigade banned until someone else comes in, because he’s not happy with how he feels about it personally.
“And it’s not just him. This is all coming from the top, obviously. It’s a board level attitude.
“I don’t see anyone in the board disagreeing with that opinion, particularly at least putting their heads above the parapitic to say this isn’t right.”
Celtic fans will be delighted if that news comes to fruition as many Hoops supporters have showed their dismay at the Celtic board in our fan forum The Jungle.
Will Nicholson leave Celtic at the end of the season? There has been no official indication from Celtic regarding Nicholson’s future, but the comments have reignited debate among supporters about the club’s leadership and direction.
