The elite position in England Martin O’Neill holds that could save Celtic’s transfer window

Martin O’Neill has two weeks to sign players for Celtic in the January transfer window.

The Celtic manager is yet to sign his first player since O’Neill returned to the club with just Julian Araujo brought into the Bhoys so far.

Araujo was Wilfried Nancy’s player and a defender, and with O’Neill’s search for a striker still continuing, time is slowly but surely running out for Celtic right now.

However, it’s not all a lost cause for the Celtic fans. Journalist Hugh MacDonald reveals the elite position O’Neill still holds in England that could save Celtic’s transfer window.

Martin O’Neill ‘will know’ players Celtic can get using LMA contacts

Martin O’Neill still holds the position of chairman of the League Manager’s Association and MacDonald reckons the huge contacts book the Celtic boss has because of that, could save the transfer window.

MacDonald said on the PLZ Football Show, “I think he’s admitted that, he hasn’t watched as much football.

“I think one thing he’s got, I mean, apart from his ability, his intelligence, he’s one of the smartest guys I’ve ever seen in football.

“I think he’s got a contacts book, I mean, he’s the chairman of the League Manager’s Association, so he’ll know of players that are available.”

Celtic fans will be hoping that O’Neill is rifling through that book, because as it stands right now, this Celtic board do not look like they are helping matters.
