Michael Nicholson is a man under pressure at Celtic.
The Hoops CEO has overseen the disastrous reign of Wilfried Nancy at Celtic as well as some other high profile, and public, embarrassments that have shamed the club.
Dermot Desmond’s flaying of Celtic legend Brendan Rodgers and, of course, the infamous AGM speech which saw Ross Desmond attack the Hoops support all happened under Nicholson’s watch.
Nicholson has been viewed as an absent CEO by the vast majority of Celtic supporters and many would love to see him leave.
Well, if any of the three rumours that ACSOM’s John ‘Yogi’ Hughes are true, Nicholson may be out of Celtic soon enough.
The Michael Nicholson rumours all Celtic fans will want to be true
After Nancy left the club, there are rumours circulating that Nicholson facilitated the issuing of the Frenchman’s P45.
Not so says Yogi as he shares the rumours he’s heard about the under-pressure CEO’s position at Celtic.
Big John told A Celtic State of Mind, “But it depends on what you believe.
“There’s rumours saying Mark Guidi saying it was Nicholson calling for Nancy to be sacked.
“That is not what I heard. There’s rumours saying that Nicholson offered his resignation and was talked down. I assume it was Desmond who was doing the talking down.
“But for what reason I don’t know. Maybe because since Jim Henson died, sourcing a big puppet has become really difficult.
“So, I don’t know why he would want to talk him down. It’s been an utter shambles.
“I remember someone said effectively his resignation has been accepted, but he’s been asked to see out the window because he was involved in planning for the window.
“So I don’t know what to believe, but all you know is who is responsible, and ultimately the CEO is responsible.”
There is absolutely no doubt about one thing.
Nicholson must be shown the door at Celtic because the number of debacles he’s overseen and allowed to happen during his tenure have been nothing short of scandalous.
