Celtic chairman, Peter Lawwell

Peter Lawwell branded ‘weak’ and told to ‘grow a set’ after shambolic Celtic AGM

Peter Lawwell’s performance at the Celtic AGM will go down in history as one of the most embarrassing episodes in the club’s history. Ever.

The Celtic chairman lost control of the room, lost control of the proceedings but, most of all, lost control of Ross Desmond who took it upon himself to protect his daddy with words written, probably, by his daddy.

Desmond’s attack on the Celtic support should have been stopped by Lawwell but it’s clear from how the AGM ended, the Parkhead executive has no leverage or respect from the Desmond’s and now the wider Hoops support.

And now that the dust has still not settled, Lawwell has been sent a message by ACSOM’s Paul John Dykes after the Celtic chairman struggled to handle a few boos and red cards at the Celtic AGM.

Peter Lawwell struggled to cope at the Celtic AGM

Paul John put the whole booing and red card display into perspective as he summed up the AGM and Lawwell perfectly.

Paul John told A Celtic State of Mind, “I honestly think that’s weak leadership from Peter Lawwell. I think that’s weak. Right. So, you come into the room, we’re in a situation where there’s a fan movement. You need to be prepared for that.

“Now, no one got assaulted, no one got personally attacked. There was boos, there was red cards, and there was sack the board chants.

“Nothing different from a match day, right? So deal with it is my take on this. But I honestly think Peter Lawwell, grow a set.

“This club’s been very good for you. You keep telling us that you’ve been very good for us. The club’s been very good for him.

“Deal with two or three minutes of being uncomfortable because there’s only one reason why you’re uncomfortable.

“That’s because the club has failed. So take it. You’ve got to take that on the chin.

“Don’t adjourn the meeting. Don’t end it early. See it through to the end.”

You can watch the full roast below. I highly recommend it.

What happens now is anyone’s guess but one thing is for sure sure, Lawwell’s time at Celtic is up after that shambles that he oversaw.
