What someone who has worked with Kieran McKenna has said about him and the Celtic job

Kieran McKenna appears to be a name that is heavily linked to the Celtic job.

Martin O’Neill is doing a fine job as the interim manager but it appears that McKenna is a person of interest to Celtic.

The Ipswich Town boss commented on the Celtic speculation last week saying that he was happy at the Championship club and that he has full focus on his job at the Tractor Boys.

So as the highly-rated coach’s name continued to be mention for the permanent Celtic manager’s job, it appears that McKenna might not be the right man for the Parkhead club after ACSOM’s Paul John Dykes shares what he has been told ‘on good authority’ about the manager from someone who worked with him.

Kieran McKenna is ‘not the right man’ for Celtic

McKenna has done a fantastic job with Ipswich and has grand plans to get them into the English PRemier League.

But what about his suitablity for Celtic?

Paul John said on A Celtic State of Mind , “Kieran McKenna is already apparently being considered as the next manager.

“I’ve had it on good authority that he’s not the right man for the job. Somebody that’s worked alongside him.

“So what type of a manager is it, that’s down to Dermot Desmond, are we going to see at Celtic Park?”

Dermot Desmond ‘will’ consider Robbie Keane and Damien Duff

So who will Dermot Desmond look to bring to Celtic. The next two names won’t impress the fans.

Paul John continued, “When you look at the profile of the managers that Desmond’s brought in, and I’m going to bring this up and I’m going to qualify it before I do, because I wouldn’t have Robbie Keane anywhere near the Celtics manager’s position.

“But I get the feeling that he will be considered by Dermot Desmond, as will Damian Duff.”

Let’s hope neither of these guys get close to becoming the new manager as both are simply not good enough.

As for McKenna? That’s hardly a confidence-boosting ringing endorsement now, is it?
