talkSPORT man says ‘if I’m Celtic’ he would appoint recently sacked Championship manager

The hunt for the next Celtic manager continues as talkSPORT man Hugh Woozencroft tells the Parkhead club who they should look to sign as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement.

Rodgers left Celtic in blaze of publicity after resigning from the Scottish champions last week.

With Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney in temporary charge of Celtic at the moment, the club appear to be no closer to finding the 20th manager in their history.

But it appears that there is a candidate who has just been relieved from his duties at Southampton who talkSPORT man Woozencroft believes would be perfect for Celtic.

Celtic told to get ‘on the phone’ to former Southampton boss Will Still

Will Still was sacked by Southampton as Celtic beat Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup and now, the champions have been told to get on the phone to the 33-year-old rookie.

Woozencroft said on X, “Will Still will make a very good manager at Championship level.

“Yes, there were undoubted poor performances but there were also some very good ones, where, had Saints taken their chances – it would have at least given him more time.

“If I’m Celtic, I’m on the phone in the morning.”

Will Still’s managerial record proves Celtic must avoid the rookie boss, for now

Still clearly has a growing reputation in the game but his overall managerial record does not make great reading from Transfermarkt:

Will Still for Celtic? No thanks. Woozencroft must have been drunk when he posted that tweet.
