David Tanner on commentary duty for Celtic in the Champions League

Bhoys support clamp David Tanner’s latest anti-Celtic nonsense

David Tanner has a knack of putting his foot in it whenever Celtic drop points.

The talkSPORT man seems to disappear when Tanner is in pain about Rangers, but as soon as Celtic are mentioned the ‘journalist’ seems to raise his wee head.

But after Celtic’s defeat to Dundee, Tanner posted a baffling tweet about the Bhoys’ title race with Hearts.

And it was roundly criticised not just by Celtic supporters, but from fans from clubs all over the UK.

David Tanner’s strange claim about Celtic title race

Tanner is known for his typical anti-Celtic stance and always come crawling out of the social media woodwork whenever the Bhoys drop points.

And after Sunday’s result, the talkSPORT man took his chance.

Tanner said on X, “Relegation “certainties” at kick-off, Dundee are now level on points with Rangers. Hearts are five points clear of Celtic at the top – 13 ahead of Rangers.

“That’s one win in five games for a leggy Celtic side that’s come to the end of a cycle.

“It’s Derek McInnes’ title to lose.”

And no sooner had it been posted, the Celtic fans were on it:

@ColinH73 wasn’t having any of this and replied, “Behave, there’s 8 games gone out of 38. If Hearts still have this kind of lead (or more) after another 10 games then they have a serious title chance.”

@stewart_buick roasted Tanner and said, “You don’t have spout some amount of clickbait.”

Even a Hearts fan wasn’t buying Tanner’s ‘clickbait’:

Sunderland supporter @arabmackem got in on the act and called out Tanner’s ‘ignorance’, “For a man who watches so much Scottish football, his levels of ignorance/clickbait is quite something.”

And the best point of them all:

Tanner really should think before he tweets but then, if he did that, Celtic and football fans won’t have anything to laugh at of his.
