Today was the day that supporters found out what Michael Nicholson said at the meeting with the Celtic Fans Collective.
A lot had been said about the Celtic board, their handling of the shambolic transfer window, briefing against Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers and, of course, their now infamous statement.
Celtic supporters have long viewed Michael Nicholson with a suspicious eye as the never-heard from CEO hangs about in the background appearing non-productive.
And after watching Celtic’s floundering transfer business this summer, they can be forgiven for thinking their suspicions were correct.
And, of course, the Celtic Fans Collective asked Nicholson about and his reaction to the question leaves his position as CEO at the club untenable.
Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson’s disgraceful reaction to supporters’ transfer question
When asked about Celtic’s summer signings and Brendan Rodgers referencing ‘club signings’ Nicholson’s reaction will astound fans.
From the meeting minutes, “The Club were asked to confirm who is responsible for conducting football transfers – including if the Chief Executive and CFO were directly involved in the same. Supporter Groups also sought confirmation as to who ‘values’ players and agrees commercial terms. CMcK explained that a multi-disciplinary approach is taken.
Minutes from the meeting with Celtic (6/10/25) have been emailed to all members of the Collective and available on Celtic FC websitehttps://t.co/eKybOWrtq9 pic.twitter.com/67IMnF0TgD

“This approach is led by the football department who identify players, with the executive team concluding transactions. This was noted by MN as not being unusual within football clubs.
“JG asked if the football manager sanctioned all signings, MN confirmed that he did. MGe asked why the Manager referred to some signings as ‘club signings’ – MN shrugged his shoulders.”
It was rumoured that Nicholson worked 24 hours a day and that his dedication to Celtic was unmatched.
Yeah, it certainly looks like that now. How Celtic’s CEO can reply to such an important question with the level of disdain that he has is quite incredible.
It’s little wonder Celtic fans have had enough of him and the rest of the Parkhead board.
He should do the right thing and go because after reading them full minutes of the meeting, it’s clear Nicholson should never be Celtic’s CEO.
