Celtic chairman, Peter Lawwell

The eye-watering pay rise Celtic have given Peter Lawwell and Michael Nicholson

Celtic fans have the Parkhead board firmly in their sights.

After Celtic’s Champions League draw with Kairat Almaty, the Parkhead support roundly and deservedly booed the Celtic board at full time.

Lack of transfer activity has enraged the Celtic supporters and that rage spilled over into the stands last night.

Well, that outrage is going to be outstripped as soon as the Celtic support hear the pay rise Peter Lawwell and CEO Michael Nicholson have recently been awarded by the club.

Michael Nicholson and Peter Lawwell’s inflation-busting Celtic pay rises

Nicholson and Lawwell are two figures at Celtic who are deeply unpopular with much of the Hoops support.

And that popularity is set to plummet further when they find out how much Celtic have agreed to line their pockets with.

Excellent Celtic fan media account The Cynic tweeted, “Michael Nicholson’s remuneration last year was £837,000. A £120,000 raise on the previous year.

“Peter Lawwell went from £41k to £120k.”

That’s an incredible increase at a time where Celtic fans are watching their club hoard cash whilst the team gets weaker in every transfer window.

Celtic have ten days to put this right because if they don’t, August’s pay cheque should be the last one those two ever get from Celtic again.
