talkSPORT host, Ally McCoist talking Celtic

Ally McCoist will be wishing he kept his foolish Celtic opinion to himself after Club Brugge battered Rangers

Nothing pleases Celtic supporters more than Rangers pundits making fooling comments about our club that then come back to bite them on the backside.

Ally McCoist is one such pundit who just likes to say stuff about Celtic just to try and make his old club Rangers feel relevant.

With Celtic and Rangers both vying to get into the Champions League this week, McCoist couldn’t wait until both games were played before spouting his anti-Celtic nonsense on talkSPORT.

And after Rangers got battered against Club Brugge last night, McCoist will be wishing he had kept his mouth shut about Celtic now.

Ally McCoist’s Celtic ‘are a Europa League team’ look idiotic after Rangers vs Club Brugge result

Yeah, you read that right. Instead of wishing both clubs luck in the Champions League, McCoist pandered to his English audience and made particularly disparaging remarks about Celtic.

McCoist said on talkSPORT, “Taking the first game against Panathinaikos, they were very good, and a great home result in the next round. In the away leg they weren’t superb, but I was always confident they were going to go through.

“I think this is a different game, the opposition is obviously of a far better standard. I saw Brugge last season and they are a level up.

“Financially, it would mean so much to both Scottish clubs if they could make it through to the league phase of the Champions League.

“Whether they are equipped to handle it…well, Celtic proved last year with a couple of good performances – particularly at home – you can qualify.

“I think both clubs, to be brutally honest, are Europa League clubs at this moment in time. They can certainly go further in that tournament

“Celtic have a game against Kairat Almaty of Kazakhstan, and I would expect them to qualify.

“I really would. Rangers have a chance, I would suggest then go in as second favourites, but financially – just to be able to compete – they have to make it through.”

It’s going to be interesting to see what nonsense McCoist spouts this morning.

Something tells me he might be a little bit sheepish, especially about Celtic.

  1. Rangers died in 2012. They are no more. Extincto. An ex-parrot. Why do you continue to call the new club Rangers? Are you in denial that the Huns died?

    Hail Hail.
