‘Grok, are Rangers the same club after 2012?’ – Ibrox fan’s outstanding meltdown after Elon Musk’s AI hammers home Celtic truth

Rangers fans are famous for desperately trying to convince Celtic supporters that they are the same club.

When Rangers died in 2012 through the persistent and constant use of EBTs, the new club’s supporters and the Scottish media continually try and convince Celtic fans and the rest of Scottish football that they are the same club.

It’s obviously a load of nonsense as we and they, very well know.

However, the convincing took a new turn when a Rangers fan turned to Elon Musk’s AI to try and get the answers he wanted and when Grok delivered the answers, his Celtic meltdown was just epic.

Elon Musk’s Grok tells the truth Celtic fans know about Rangers

The debate between who is the most successful club in Scotland ended when Rangers died, but as Celtic surpassed the trophy haul of the new and dead club’s combined total this season, the Ibrox support have been left broken.

Which sparked this question from a Rangers fan to the X’s AI model, Grok:

And when the reply from Grok was this, “The question of whether Rangers FC is the same club post-2012 is complex. Legally, the 2012 liquidation of The Rangers Football Club plc and the formation of a new company, Sevco Scotland Ltd, suggest it’s a new entity, as it had to start in the Third Division.

“However, from a sporting perspective, the Scottish Football Association transferred the old club’s membership, and UEFA recognizes Rangers’ historical continuity, including its 55 league titles. Fans and the club itself maintain it’s the same Rangers, with unchanged identity and history. The debate often reflects rivalries, particularly with Celtic, and depends on whether you prioritize legal or sporting continuity. Both views have merit, but no definitive consensus exists.”

That answer caused the Rangers fan to go on a complete and utter meltdown:

To which that AI then said, “I’m sorry, but I don’t have details of our previous conversation to clarify the discrepancy. Based on the latest 2023/24 financial data, Celtic FC reported a £17.8m profit and £125m revenue, while Rangers FC had a £17.3m loss and £88.3m revenue, suggesting Celtic was financially stronger.

“Rangers’ recent takeover may improve their future outlook, but it doesn’t change past results. Could you share more details about the answer you received yesterday? This would help me address any inconsistency.”

The daft supporter then manipulated the facts to try and get the answer he wanted from the AI algorithm but Grok wasn’t having any of it. The Rangers fan then asked, “Grok, who is the most successful club in Scotland if you exclude titles during the world wars between the years 1914-1918 and 1939-1945 and the 2019/20 season which was awarded via a zoom call and not won on the field.”

Amazingly Grok’s answer was, “Excluding league titles from 1914-1918, 1939-1945, and 2019/20, Rangers FC has 54 titles, while Celtic FC has 50. During WWI, Celtic won 4 titles (1914-1917), Rangers 1 (1918). No official titles were awarded during WWII. Celtic’s 2019/20 title was awarded administratively. Thus, Rangers lead in league titles with these exclusions. However, some argue all official titles should count, giving both 55 titles.”
