Steven Gerrard’s rumoured return to Rangers has Celtic fans laughing up their sleeves.

Gerrard is said to be the man Rangers have earmarked to end Celtic’s dominance as the Parkhead club continue to sweep up every domestic honour season after season.

Brendan Rodgers has seen off six Rangers bosses over two spells as Celtic manager and as the Ibrox fans get all giddy about the Scouser’s return, their true feelings about Gerrard spilled out when he walked away from Ibrox to join Aston Villa in 2021.

Gerrard won one trophy out of nine in three years at Rangers and whilst their fans will continue to tell Celtic supporters that somehow ‘broke’ us, the fact is, since then, the Hoops have been utterly dominant winning seven trophies in the last nine years.

We told back in 2021 how Celtic’s return to dominance ended Gerrard’s Rangers reign as Postecoglou turned the heat up on the Ibrox club and when he did, this bizarre ceremony took place back then:
