James Forrest sparked incredible scenes of joy at Celtic Park with his equaliser against St Mirren.
Celtic’s Trophy Day was threatened with a defeat after St Mirren went 1-0 up just six minutes into the second half at Parkhead and as the game petered out, the equalising goal never looked like it was coming.
However, Celtic do what they always do and keep on fighting till the end and in the 94th minute of stoppage time, James Forrest wrote his name into folklore with his record-equalling goal.
Forrest has scored in every single season he has played since making his debut back in 2010 and as the clock ticked down at Celtic Park yesterday afternoon it looked like the title celebrations were going to kick off with an end of season defeat.
That was until Forrest stepped up for Celtic again.
Sky Sports’ average reaction to James Forrest’s historic Celtic goal
Sky Sports, in general, are viewed with much disdain by Celtic supporters for how they not only cover Celtic, but Scottish football in general.
Yesterday, they had the chance to make up for that but when history was created by Forrest in the dying seconds, the sattelite broadcaster’s reaction to the goal was extremely disappointing.
🍀 JAMES FORREST SCORES!

An equaliser deep into stoppage time means he’s scored in 16 consecutive seasons for the club ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/Z6SX6vb5Je
The normally animated Ian Crocker was subdued when we all know what gets him over-excited when he commentates on the side across the city.
So how does this compare to Celtic TV then I hear you ask.?
Sky Sports can’t hold a candle to Celtic TV on James Forrest’s goal
Celtic TV are long criticised for the quality of their coverage on match days and even yesterday the amateurish production collapsed when they lost commentary audio for a period of the second half.
But fair play to Peter Grant and the commentator who took over from Gerry McCulloch because this reaction to the goal was outstanding.
Outstanding from them both. Grant’s reaction was class, the commentator, superb as Forrest continues his incredible legacy at Celtic.
