‘It was disgusting’ – BBC Sportsound lambasted for ‘pathetic’ attack on Celtic’s Adam Idah

Adam Idah is starting to fire on all cylinders for Celtic now.

The Irishman will admit that he hasn’t had the best of times at Celtic after making his permanent move to the club last summer.

Idah returned to Paradise in a move that caused the Celtic striker to put fear in the hearts of the Rangers supporters.

The Irishman’s goal for Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup mauling of St Johnstone had the Ibrox fans worried but having played second-fiddle to Kyogo for much of the season, his appearances have not been of the same standard as last season.

However, now having kicked on after being so important to Celtic’s win over Young Boys in the Champions League, it was what BBC Sportsound said about Idah that had the boys over at The Celtic Exchange raging.

BBC filleted for ‘disgusting’ comments on Celtic striker Adam Idah

Speaking about Celtic in the Champions League, James and Paddy discussed Adam Idah and how he can now claim the striking position at the club as his own after the departure of Kyogo to Rennes.

Addressing Idah’s lack of form, James took issue with the BBC’s article on the Celtic striker which criticised him for his lack of goals on the eve of the big Champions League tie against the Swiss champions.

James told The Celtic Exchange, “But he was, you know, just in a wee bit of a lull and to burst out of that in the fashion that he has and blow away what I thought was a pathetic piece for the BBC on the morning of the Young Boys’ game, which I think has cost them a wee bit in terms of Celtic press conferences.”

Paddy: “It continued on to Sportsound that night and the minute Paddy Bonner started to challenge it, it was, we’ll move on, we’ve got all night to talk about it. It was disgusting.”

James: “And you know, this is like a Scottish club qualifying for the last stages of the Champions League first time in 12 years. What’s your point?”

Paddy: “Lazy journalism.”

James: “It’s even snide journalism, you know, it’s not even lazy.”

Idah has answered his critics in fine style with two goals against Aston Villa and another in the 3-1 against Motherwell at the weekend.
