The irony of Rangers fans complaining about referees and VAR is not lost one me, a lifelong Celtic supporter.
For years we have had to endure what was called ‘honest mistakes’ as Rangers benefitted from some fortuitous refereeing calls that gave them an advantage in the game.
Now, after the introduction of VAR we call these mistakes a pattern of assistance after the brilliant Alan Morrison’s great work into looking at how the new refereeing technology and the men with the whistles helped Rangers get results last season that may not have happened if certain penalties or red cards where not issued.
However, it seems that the Ibrox support are deeply unhappy (or unhinged) after watching VAR do its job correctly at Celtic Park to overturn a penalty that was awarded to Hearts and award a spot kick to Celtic in the 2-0 win over the Edinburgh club.
Lets take a look at both decisions:

I’m confused. I thought the Rangers fans wanted VAR to apply the rules to stop Celtic getting decisions but now that the referees are doing just that, it seems to be unpopular with the Rangers fans.
I wish they would make up their minds. Part of me also wishes that at least one of those decisions yesterday were incorrect because the meltdown would have been even better!
I love it when those blue nosed pundits go into meltdown about decisions at Celtic games hoping we drop points but to be fair there is not much to get excited about at Ibrox except for building work just a shame they cant build a team !
