Celtic accused of trying to sabotage Jamie Murphy’s Rangers move
This will be the most bizarre story of the international break the Celtic fans will probably read.
Whilst the Celtic fans are keeping tabs on their players and how they are doing representing their country, Rangers supporters are getting themselves worked up in a daft conspiracy theory after what Jamie Murphy claimed happened to him before he moved to Ibrox in 2018.
Murphy moved to Rangers from Brighton and divulged a story of how an SPFL tried to interfere with it on the Open Goal podcast.
Murphy said the move was continually held up and claimed that someone from Brighton told him that an SPFL team told them that Rangers couldn’t afford the deal.
And the detectives on Follow Follow seem to claim that it was Celtic.
Celtic accused of transfer sabotage
Now these people on the toxic fan forum are not known for their high IQ or their rational thinking so it’s no surprise that they point the finger at Celtic after Murphy’s claim:
First up, is Heart & Hand’s clown shoe, David Edgar:

This guy wants foreign referees as punishment for this. Wait, what?

This next one is a cracker:

By stopping the signing of *checks notes* a player who barely made 20 appearances over two seasons? Okay…
It just gets better and better:

Yeah, we wanted Jamie Murphy to help give competition to Paddy Roberts, James Forrest and Scott Sinclair at the time. Muppet.

I agree with the last comment on both counts. Although I would replace hate with pity because we stopped worrying about them years ago.
I hope that Celtic’s lawyers watch this and ask Murphy for clarification of this claim because although he didn’t name the club, the insinuation that Celtic did any wrongdoing is clearly there.
