‘HMRC “kicked the doors in”’ – Celtic fans will love Rangers Tax-Case’s latest SFA tweet

The Celtic fans all know the story surronding how Rangers died in 2012. It has been the source of much amusement for the supporters for well over a decade now.

The EBT scandal rocked Scottish football to it’s very core as the Oldco cheated it’s way to titles, cups and millions of pounds of Champions League money at the expense of other teams who tried to live within it’s means.

And as Graeme Souness’ one-man crusade against Callum McGregor brought up his EBT past, Rangers Tax-Case sent this superb tweet on social media to remind us just how far HMRC went to hold Rangers to account.

SFA and SPL ‘did nothing’ despite ‘knowing’

Valentines Day 2012 is a day that will go down long in the memories of the Celtic fans. It was a day that sparked the infamous Jim White trembling lip and the invention of things like companies running clubs and ‘engine room subsidiaries’.

However, I digress. Rangers Tax-Case shared the events leading up to that date and how the SFA did nothing and what HMRC did to get access to files about Rangers from Hampden.

And calling out the obvious Rangers bias within the SFA, the account continued, “But it was worse. The SFA knew years earlier that HMRC was chasing Rangers.

How? HMRC “kicked the doors in” at Hampden and demanded to see Rangers’ contracts filed with the SFA. They knew for years. They did nothing. Never forget that when people dismiss the possibility of bias.

Ogilvie signed the initial trust documentation that set up the EBT scheme!

The finest, most honest Vice President of the SFA was unaware of what the finest, most honest director at Rangers had been up to.

So whenever Rangers fans try to spin the lie that Celtic is the most protected club in Scottish football, share this article with them that the only real protected species (although it’s not extinct) was Glasgow Rangers Football Club.
